We gave Gough Cat a high performance, content driven upgrade.
Putting performance and user experience first
When Gough Cat approached us for an upgrade we jumped on the opportunity to build them a better site. The project management and development teams discussed KPIs from the outset, with a focus on improving content delivery and overall performance.
After rebuilding the template we integrated Gough's own CAT feed. As a result the site is now full of rich, up-to-date content and requires very little manual data entry or management.
Our efforts to improve the site were matched by the client. We worked closely together throughout the project, employing agile development methods to resolve issues at breakneck speed.
Performance quotas were put in place to reduce any impact on the site’s performance by limiting slide numbers, image formats and compression. We also chose to use IMGIX, a tool which essentially provides a better way to serve images. A truly smarter solution, the site was developed with new coding standards and template styles built with SASS (Syntactically Awesome Stylesheets) to reduce the cost of future sites.
